Some Impressive Programmes

Another day of festival, the most important of it, Kukur Tihar, if I have understood correctly. I'm trying to get things slowly moving forward for us, getting a local sim-card to ease communication with estate agencies and so forth, but as everyone is on holiday, nothing happens.

Therefore we take another tourist action and head to Patan Durbar Square, an UNESCO heritage site with many ancient, breathtaking temples and stupas, worshippers and idle crowds spending their day off.

"Yes, there will be some programmes," said the receptionist at the hotel when asked about visiting this place.Well, 'programmes' there were: little boys banging drums, walking on sky-high sticks and collecting rupees for the show. All at a same time. Apart from that, no special programmes, unless counting a team-organised programme that included locking a waiter of a coffee shop into a staircase, leaving me wondering for ages why are we left alone and not receiving our bill. Really they should have collected some rupees for it too, but the poor waiter did not seem too impressed, and in fact charged me, after release, 50 rupees more than what our drinks were suppose to cost.
